top 10 products

Dieticians all over the world have had a heated discussion about top healthy and unhealthy products. This dispute has had a long history that dates hundreds years back, but concerning the advantage of some products, all doctors and dieticians agree in opinion unanimously.

After long and exhausting winter sleep your body needs a powerful energy resource. So, there are top 10 products that will help you wake your body up and get ready for spring. Be sure that you will be in astounding shape and have a healthy look. Don’t be afraid, these products are availabe in winter as well as in the early spring and they can bring some novelty and variety on your table and in your dieting.

1. Garden radish

This root crop is rich in vitamin C, and it is known to be necessary for normal immunity maintenance. Besides, vitamin C helps our skin remain elastic and look healthy. Let’s agree that in winter it is more important than during any other season! One more plus of a garden radish is in its colour. According to dieticians, bright colours – even on a plate – help us struggle with bad mood and depressions and by this avoid appetite increase.

2. Green peas

Many dieticians advise to use peas as an ingredient to salads in winter and as a garnish to the second course in the early spring accordingly. And it is correct: green pea is rich in vitamins C, Е and K (last is necessary for normal blood formation and for health of bones), and it contains not so many calories. Also peas are rich in iron, phosphorus and potassium, and you don’t feel hungry long time.

3. Vegetable marrows

200 grams of vegetable marrows contain almost whole daily dose of vitamins C and K, it is full of cellulose and so-called phytonutrients – substances that promote removal of poisons and products of a metabolism from our body. The vegetable marrow is also good diuretic and favorably influences skin condition. What’s more, it is practically an ideal product for diets – 100 grams of vegetable marrows have about 20 kcals so you may cook it with oil, sour cream and, of course, other vegetables. Try to fry, for example, vegetable marrows in egg – you will receive a tasty combination of vitamins with lots of protein!

4. Cabbage

Maybe it is not so rich in vitamin C (broccoli has much more of it), but cellulose is in abundance! Thanks to it cabbage is called a product with negative caloric content. Why? Because our organism spends more energy for its digestion, than it receives from its consumption. So, any diet may include cabbage. Its bright taste and juiciness allow to use cabbage in soups, salads (especially with sour cream), ragout, hodgepodge, baked puddings, cutlets and in many other dietary dishes.

5. Rhubarb

This plant perfectly stands severe winter climates, but we see it on our tables very seldom. A rhubarb is used as feed crop, but it may and even must be consumed in food, as it has pleasant sour taste and a quite soft structure. Plus, it is rich in calcium – for healthy teeth, nails and bones - and in vitamin C that is very necessary to us in winter and in the early spring. A rhubarb is better consumed with sugar or honey, you may add sour creams and nuts to smooth a rhubarb acid.

6. Artichoke

Tinned artichokes are available in shops during all seasons of the year, and fresh ones are in the early spring. The odd shape of this plant (it looks like a big green strobile) can frighten culinary specialists off, but actually there is nothing to be afraid of. Artichokes can be added to a rice-vegetable ragout, roast meat, soups and baked puddings; your dishes will be enriched with vitamin C and folic acid – one more “basis” of strong immunity.

7. Cranberry

This red small berry may be bought in any kinds – tinned, frozen, fresh – and can be prepared in any kind of cooking with many other ingredients. It is added to salads (for example, with sea wand or cabbage), baked puddings, meat dishes, many sauces and compotes are made from it. But, of course, it is better to consume it raw: all useful substances remain in it that, by the way, prevent the development of irritations and infections, and also raise level so-called «good cholesterol». The easiest recipe from cranberry – it’s a mix of fresh berries with sugar and soft cottage cheese. It is finger-licking good!

8. Persimmon

The persimmon combines advantages of usefulness of vegetables and the sweet of fruits. Besides vitamin C and cellulose, it has a lot of potassium and magnesium (useful to heart), carotin (for eyes) and lykopyne which is considered to be the strongest natural fighter against cancer. You may eat it without anything, as fruit ingredient for green salads and meat ragout (for this purpose a persimmon has to be mashed), as a part of a canape and other snacks and, of course, in a sweet baking and compotes.

9. Chestnuts

These nuts appear in the grocery markets for a short span of time - as a rule, they may be found on markets only from February till the end of March. So, don’t miss your chance! Chestnuts contain much protein and a lot of fat acids that help your brain and cardiovascular system work as a clock. They say, all is clockwork, all is order! Moreover, some researches have shown that the increasing consumption of chestnuts improves thought process and puts all nervous system in order.

10. Red oranges

As well as any other citrus plants, red oranges have what to boast. They are rich in vitamin C and have sweet or sourish taste. The difference from their relatives – usual oranges – is only one – they have bright red colour. And do you remember why bright colours are important? Moreover, it is just beautiful – add segments of an orange and a little of fresh juice to any vegetable salads, meat dishes or fish. On any holiday table this will most welcome as never before.

What you said is really true. The food you eat daily is really makes affect to your body if we don’t properly look into it. So whenever, I get anything from the market I always check it whether it has the chemical or not. But still sometime can get it wrongly.
