Boost Your Energy Without Sugar

Are you exhausted, run-down and losing the battle to look and feel good? We will show you how to raise your energy level, sleep soundly, look and feel younger. There are some tips how to make yourself feel better and gently reverse the effects of stress.
1. Eat all day long
When you do not eat, your brain assumes that you are in a time of famine and sends a red alert to your adrenals to release adrenaline and cortisol. Adrenaline release energy from sugar stored in your liver and muscles, and cortisol breaks down your muscle mass to turn it into sugar. So excess sugar damages brain and body cells. As long as you don’t eat, your brain will continue to send alerts to your adrenals. Restricting food and eating only junk, processed or fake food is disastrous. The chemicals, food additives and preservatives in such foods have been linked to behavioral disorders, hyperactivity, headaches, fatigue, irritability and even cancer. The result of eating these products is fat around your middle, a flabby body and accelerated ageing. So what to do?
- KEEP a food journal for a week. You may be surprised when you discover what you eat each day (if you honestly write everything down, of course!).
- ACCEPT that eating is one factor that is in your mind. Aim to diet, always eat regular balanced food – all this will help your blood sugar remain balanced.
- IF you are in the driven or dragging stages, three meals a day will keep your blood sugar levels balanced and will fire up your metabolism. If you are in the losing it, hitting the wall or the burned out stages, you need to eat at least 4-5 times a day. If you suffer from insomnia, add a bedtime snack.
- BEGIN every day with a balanced breakfast as soon as possible after awakening.
- EAT every two-three hours. Grazing will keep your blood sugar levels balanced and will allow your adrenals to rest, repair and rejuvenate.
- HEALTHY fats and oils, such as butter, olive oil and essential fatty acids will provide your body with the raw materials to make new body cells.
2. Pay off you sleep debt
Do you have nightmares or fall asleep while watching TV? Do you wake up tired every day and drag yourself out of bed? Maybe you eat sugar for energy and have heavy dark circles under your eyes? If you can say YES to all these questions, you are showing signs of a sleep problem. We recommend you to take advantage of some of solutions offered below.
- TAKE two 10-15 minute quiet retreat periods each day. Go for a walk or close your eyes. Rest or meditate in the loo if you cannot find another private place. If you are at home, listen to a peaceful relaxing music.
- MAKE sure you get 8 hours of a sleep at night – increase it to 10 hours if you feel burned out at all.
- IMPROVE your sleep habits. When you use your bedroom for activities other than sleep, such as reading, eating, talking on the phone or watching TV in bed, you begin to unconsciously associate your bedroom with wakefulness. Make your bedroom your sanctuary.
3. Say Goodbye to sugar
Sugar is the most commonly used stimulant. It affects your moods and behavior. But sugar consumption depletes the B vitamins and lowers your body’s resistance to bacteria and viruses. Sugar makes your brain irritable and hyperactive. Instead of sugar-containing snacks, nourish your body with regular balanced meals or real whole food, and then you will gain your edge to be more successful.
- KEEP a sugar diary for a week to see how much of it you eat.
- TO AVOID the sugar-craving, eat three small meals and three snacks that contain protein, fat and some carbohydrate each day.
- EATING sugar at night is one of the worst habits you can have. Instead opt for a protein snack, especially turkey, cottage cheese or organic milk.

It’s pretty awesome having nutrition as my life. I always tell people when they ask me what kind of supplements to take. Start with the basics and get some protein as a body building supplement. As always throw in a multivitamin.

Protein is key that most don’t get enough of when attempting to pack on the mass. Thank you for a good article
